Flashlight is an open platform for Spotlight, which allows developers to write plugins that extend OS X's built-in search with new features. Here are some of our favorites:
Eject mounted volumes (physical and network)
Send email. Optionally attach selected files from Finder.
Search English Wikipedia (wiki).
Search the web instantly from Spotlight. Type '/', followed by your search.
Add events to your calendar.
Updated weather plugin with both days and hour-by-hour forcast.
Immediately go to the first search result for your query.
Translate text between English, Arabic, Spanish, Hindi, Chinese, French and German.
Creates a new reminder.
Provides additional commands such as shutdown, restart and logout.
